I had a cop at my house recently. We had a raccon in the house. While waiting for the animal control officer he was admiring my horns in the garage. He got a kick out of them and made no negative comments. He even said he might have one laying around and would give it to me if they still had it. Not all police officers are of that mentality though. Nice guy.

One thing I want to make clear. Yes it's loud, and yes it can damage ears. It's not a toy and could cause ear damage or worse. With that said.. I'm quite conservative with it and am always aware of what's around me before I blow it. It's not a revenge horn.
Good news for sure, BTW, I've edited my previous post to remove your license# pic. With so many internet scams by unscrupulous people, you might want to gray out your license # on your members gallery. Just a suggestion. Nat

I remember that truck. He was playing with me on 95 by the airport when I first put on the sewer pipe. He liked it .

From the looks of those horns, well at least two of them; I bet Hoot can get some forward thrust when he pulls the trigger.

Growing up, my dad had a huge set of air horns on the old ChrisCraft. They were powered by a bottle of CO2. It was in a semi-permenant mount below the deck plates in the bilge, and one tank would easily last all summer long. The tank was smaller than the typical gas grill tank. We used those horns at least twice per boat ride just to open a bridge, and who knows how many more times to announce our arrival. I'd love to get a set like that for the truck (they'd never fit on my boat).

Stop over....

I use them sometimes on the road at opportune times.

When I have passengers and no one is close.

Sometimes at 4AM Sunday morning in the narrow streets of Philly

Hoot,

That thing looks loud enough to blow out your spare tire! Very cool! You don't like to do things half way, do you.

Is there a... well..... less drastic way to get a painfully loud replacement for the sorry excuse of a horn that came-w-these trucks?

You can get a basic air horn kit from places like Ricksons or JC Witney.

I think Hadley even has online ordering.

Usually has 2 (smaller) horns, compressor, little air tank, hoses and fittings.
Uses either the factory horn switch, or a seperate switch,
Some have wired it up so the factory horn blows first, then the air horns.
Some have put a switch in so they can switch between the two,
fer instance, they don't want the air horn blowing when they lock the doors.
