my numbers are 352.6 hp and 921.2tq. the horsepower numbers i am not too happy about. The last time i dynoed with just the ez and put down 361hp and 705tq. Would not having a good lp make the numbers this low? If so why are the torque numbers up there? Well my friends 01 duramax (that smoked me last weekend) laid the hammer on me again. he put down 434hp and 906tq. the dyno was a mustang inertia style, i dont know what kind of difference that makes or not but i thought i would throw it out there. Also i was running crazy larry 2.4d
no thanks, i think i will keep my triple dog i just need a good lift pump and i will go back and see what happens then. One thing i can say is that the tranny didnt seem to be slipping at all like i thought it would be
the dyno measures torque and your hp is a calculation of the torq. and rpm, im wondering if your trans. was giving out up at the top of the pull? Convertor , whatever seems with those great torq. #s along with that low of hp reading you had something slipping.
well i am sure if the tranny wouldnt slip (dont know if it was or wasnt) i would put down more hp than him. I have heard of guys on here having a bone stock truck except for a lp upgrade and running the cl 2.4.1 and putting down 450 or 460 rwhp. thats why i was so shocked cause i have the ez too i thought i would at least put down over 400

Amen! I agree. Smarty will do the trick.
FWIW, I did two dyno runs with my truck on 2 different dynojets. The 1st run with only air/exhaust and Smarty (stock auto trans) and stock lift pump it made 466/922 at almost zero fuel pressure. After the Walbro inline pump install, it made 467/915 on the 2nd dyno run with 15psi ish fuel pressure at WOT.
I just bought a TS Performance MP-8 to add some pressure, so I hope to install it this weekend....and next weekend will be dynoing again. I hope to at least break the 500 mark if my stock trans will hold up.
..
you should be knocking on 500 hp & close to 1000ft lbs as far as your buddy with the dura max get rid of the big tires and go with a 265/70/17 or a 285/70/17 at the most with crazy larry alone EZ on 0 you should be able to school him, the tires are killing you also the big tires are not great for dyno #s.

Hmm...that's a good point about the tire size. When I did the dyno runs in my post above...I was on 285's. Now I have 35's too. I wonder if I should put some stocker 265's back on the rear wheels (which I have available) for next weekends dyno?? Yes?
..
Your 35" tires are NOT the problem.
Heck most guys that dyno have 35's.
They might be costing you 10hp.
As you know CL on your 05 (best year for CL) should be good for 425-450hp+
Some times dynos are just off. Maybe return it to stock programming and then re-load CL and add some pressure. Make your pulls in OD and go WOT at 1500rpm.
A better LP would be good but shouldnt effect your HP that much since alot of guys dyno at 450+ w/ stock LP.
Goodluck, i'd definetly be concerned with thoes numbers.
So change a few things and try try again.

If it still shows low numbers next weekend, turn the ez off and see what it dynos with just CL. If the numbers go up, that tells you that you need a LP.
As long as your tires aren't mud terrain they aren't going to affect the dyno much if any at all. They will affect an actual race though.

Interesting...why OD?
I was always told 1:1 is the gear ratio to do a dyno pull in not to mention when I go WOT at 1500 it usually downshifts and I have also always been told that if you shift during the run when you want it measured it screws the numbers up.
What RPM did you make 926ft/lbs at? It is possible that if it was a really low RPM you were still on the stall? When I dyno my Mustang which has a 3500 stall we don't even start the run till 3300 or so RPM to make sure the TQ numbers we get are accurate.

i hit those torque numbers at a little over 1900 rpm's. My concern is my peak hp numbers were at 2008 rpm that is extremely low soemthing surely wasnt right. The guy who owns the shop said it was probally my tire size but i dont think so. after thinking about it since my peak hp number was at such a low rpm and the torque was up there i wonder if the trans was holding good up until 2000 rpm there for getting acurate torque numbers and then began to slip all the way to 3600 rpm because on the graph after the hp hit its peak at about 2100 rpm the graph just plunged south
