Higher 6th Gear??
Ya they do seem high, but I dono what would be wrong. My speed seems right. I recalibrated it with the smarty, and the other day I passed one of those "your speed" radar signs on the side of the road and it matched my speedometer pretty close. So I dono...
the cut off date on the newer trans was 5/06 any trans built after that date has the higher ratio 6th gear. i know of some trucks built late 06 that stll have the old g56 . so dont know when dodge actually started putting the nw ones in .im thinking early 07 . when you order parts for the trans the cut off date on the old one is 05/06
The new one is .74, the old one is .79. The NV5600 was .73...
I have an 05 NV5600 and my dad has a 06 G56, both rigs have 3.73's... My dad can pull just about any interstate hill with 7-10K behind him in 6th gear, I cannot... Thats the difference that ~200 rpms makes...
A early G56 with 3.73's turns about what a NV5600 with 4.10's turns, in OD.. Hence no 4.10's with a G56.
Personally I would like to have a .80 and a .70 OD, a towing and a empty OD... I may add a US Gear OD unit down the road, which would give me a .80, .73, and .58 OD's....
