i just prefer to hollow out my factory cat and then reinstall it- my cost- about an hour of my time and a little welding.

Why welding?,just slide it back on ,and put the clamp on.

I prefer welding as well - the whole exhaust (DP, 4040L, catgut, 304SS turndown) are TIG'd with stainless into one piece.

Fabbed & welded on the bench, then installed on factory hangers/isolators...
