hey everyone im the new guy to the forms..

hey im kinda new to the hole diesel thing.. i got a 05 dodge dully crew cab 4door, 8 foot bed.. totaly stock.. and i got some money to play with about 5 grand and look for some one to point me in the write way for mods..i have been reading diesel power mag for about 9 months so i know a little bit.. but i wanted to start off with a AFE stage 2 intake with a ATS arc flow, i think that sounds right. i was thinkin of putting stacks on it form black cloud diesel.i was also thinkin of bigger injectors. will i need to up grade my fuel pump if i get bigger injectors? and i not sure what to do for a chip idont know whats good and what stacks well.. i have heard alot about a TST box, zillaraider, banks 6 gun stuff like that.. and i have heard of tunners like PPE and smarty..not sure whats good for tuners. i dont know what works well for dodge.. so any advice would help out alot.. thanks

Welcome to DTR fitz. Don't sweat the advice, someone will be along shortly to help you. Take a picture of that cash though, you'll want to remember what it looked like.

Well welcome to an awesome site. Your intake, although pricey is definately a decent product. The intake manifold probably won't benefit you much unless you start pumping out major horsepower. Although injectors aren't a bad idea, I would start with a downlaoder, box, programmer, etc first. Possibly even stacking before replacing injectors. Stock injectors in the newer motors are good for a fair amount of power. Stacks are personal preference, I would recommend at least a straight thru muffler or none at all to improve flow. With your stated budget I would definately consider tranny upgrades on an auto and an aftermarket clutch if it's a hand shaker. Make sure to fill out your signature in the User CP link so everyone knows what you have. Have fun and remember there is a lot more opinion than fact on here so take everything with a grain of salt.

Welcome to the site! Lots of useful info here.
For mods, and this is the same thing that I did for my truck, start with the supporting things first. Guages, air, exaust, fuel pusher pump. Then I'd do a box, tranny upgrades, and go from there. The sky is the limit, but an ounce of preventon is worth a pound of cure.

Happy bombing!

Gauges, Lift pump support, trans, box(es), injectors, head studs and twins. From there prepare to do maintenance things.

What shakin said.

I did it in this order.
Gauges so you don't fry anything<- Hopefully.
Intake and exhaust.
Either a fass or walbro to keep the fuel pressure up.<- Boxes will suck the rail dry easy.
Tranny work<- Don't listen to luvnacumns, we're all taking bets on when his gives up the ghost.
Boxes, programmers or whatever.
Head studs.
Twins.

Smarty's are good, I like my edge, Stay away from banks, too much $$$, you can spend it better else where. Quadzilla prouducts are good also. I have mixed feelings about bullydog, I have seen a few of them erase ECM's.

when you ask what programmer to get, your gonna get 50 different opinions. I like the bullydog triple dog and i have had it for nearly a year and a half and no probs. All trucks act different to different programmers, just find the one you like...good luck and welcome to dtr
