HELP walbro pump install.

Ive been playing with this pump for 2 days now i installed it in line with my stocker in the tank and winding up with 50+ psi (way too much!). what my question is that can i disconnect the stock pump and let the walbro suck threw the stock pump and use the wiring from the stock pump to feed the walbro? (Understand?)

Are you using a regulator? And yes you can suck through the stock pump.

You have to have a return line back to the tank.

Go to Richards website www.glacierdieselpower.com

He has instructions for installation.

By the way, 50 psi is not too much for a stock CP3, it is too much for your stock fuel filter set up though. You must run a regulator w/ a return line to your tank(fill tube).

You need to regulate that walbro somehow, either a return manifold style or a dead end regulator.
As for sucking thru the stock pump, im not sure if it can suck enough thru the stock pump, I thought that the pump(on the intank pump setups) kept the bowl in the pickup assembly full of fuel, and basically without the pump sucking the fuel into the bowl, it would more or less starve for fuel sometimes? Whereas a 03-04 pickup doesnt have that problem.(Too bad the only alternative for 04.5 guys is either a pickup like glacier has, or to use a liberty canister and modify it)

Heres a few more pics/info from the install we did on my buddies truck...

The system is as easy as any to install. do you have the complete glacier system?
I wouldn't give up that easy.

no i don't have the complete system, i ordered the pump and thats all i got. i was just gonna hook it up in line and run both, off the stock wiring and a 1/4 turn valve for a regulator but thought that it was too much back pressure?

You should have ordered the entire system. My DTR group had a meet and wrench and had mine installed in about an hour.

thats what i thought i was getting when i ordered it, but when it came all it was was the pump in the box. i just need to pick up a check valve and it will be donei have a 1/4turn valve on there for now just cracked a bit closed so it reads 25psi on my gauge at idle but when i turn up the chip on level 5 i can drop it down to 2psi.

I set mine to 40 psi, and it doesn't drop past 20psi with a big cp3.

That walbro pump isn't meant to suck through the stock pump. It will cause cavitation issues
