HELP!! twins problem
Hey fellas just got the twins on and I cannot keep the intercooler pipe from blowing off..I am gonna try to double clamp everything to see if it holds. Here is my question, why in the world is there oil shooting out of the compressor outlet on the top turbo? I blew the intercooler boot and still had to drive a good ways, I open the hood and there is oil all over the place coming out the outlet of the top turbo??
could it be that when I rotated the compressor housing a seal or something got misplaced? I hope I can fix this without having to take the top turbo off thats alot of work

you don't have any rubber hose joining any parts if the drain together? It only takes a small restriction for the oil to blow past the seals. Or you have a turbo that is going to need rebuilt
Yea I have some silicone hose thats joins it together with the nipples in the block...I never had a problem with it untill I put the twins on. And the turbo is only like 6-8 months old.
Pulling it first thing tomorrow morning. If there is oil coming from behind the wheel how am I suppose to fix that? I think this is where my problem is, I think oil is leaking into the compressor housing and getting blown into the piping
I would check that spot to make absolutely certain that it is not kinked at all. Silicone hose, when used in oil drains, can get soft and flex easy when hot. Especially if it is silicone hose not rated for oil. Check that before pulling the turbo.
If that is not the case, pull the cold pipe and see if there is oil in that. You need to determine which turbo the oil is coming from. If it is coming from the top turbo, you can leave the exhaust housing bolted to the manifold and hot pipe, and remove the center section to do the rebuild

I ordered hot pipe, down pipe, and mounting bracket from source automotive. I fabbed the intercooler pipe and cold piping myself. I have not taken any pics yet of the piping. Truck ran great besides blowing the intercooler pipe off when i get into it.
