Help!!! New tranny... vibration in park at 1900 RPMS?
You could of called me on the phone/email and I would of told you that.... But for everyone's sake it will post it shorty. I still haven't pulled with it yet, Doing that tomorrow. I can give you the empty truck skinny. I did have mine setup differently. I didn't want a real tight TC that I had to stomp the brake just to hold it at a light and I hate banging shifts during normal driving. Give me a few minutes.
This what I wanted. Good positive shift (no throughing horses down in the trailer), a little bit of torque magnification (when you step on the go pedal the rpm is a little bit ahead of the mph when driving normal or getting on it a little). No 400 rpm drop when going into lockup like stock. If just driving normal my TC lockup will drop 0-100 rpms. The harder you mash on the go pedal the more of a difference in rpm when lockup occures(need to test this with trailer).
This what I got.
Good positive shift when driving normal, not harsh at all. If you get down on it the shifts get more firm. Lockup RPM drop driving normal is 0 rpms just tooling around. If you get in a hurry they are around 100 rpm. With my truck stock it would sometimes do a 3rd-4th straight to lockup shift. It was harsh then. I got used to driving around it by feathering the throttle after a 4th shift. I have hit it only once since I had the tranny upgraded. I can tell you one thing, it was violent. The problem is due to the ECM programming. Since the upgrade the problem was just magnified. With a stock tranny it would rattle the dash a little. Now it shakes it!!! I am glad I went ahead and spent the money on the billet input shaft..LOL Otherwise the truck has very good street mannors. You can hardly tell it is a modified tranny, starting off or getting on it, you can tell a tighter TC is in there. No big rpm swing and slow MPH gain. In my opinion the TC effeciency is dead on the way it should have come from the factory. Very smooth tranny unless otherwise requested with more throttle. Right now it is perfect, hope it does good towing heavy. We shall see tomorrow.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. When I talked with Dave before I ordered my tranny I asked him "what would break if I install an exhaust brake?" He said a thrust washer would get worn out due to lack of lube. So I ordered the rear gear and trust washer from him. The rear gear has holes that need to be welded up to force fluid over the thrust washer. Most excellent, now I can run an exhaust brake and not worry about breaking the tranny.
