4500 is just a tad short for long term tranny build. But since you have a nice new low mileage 07 with a relatively fresh tranny, you can get a TC/VB swap, laminated flexplate and some various other small hard parts and be good to 500. Talk to either of the vendors you mention for their input.

Do not skip the billet input shaft! But you should be able to build it to handle 500 with noproblem for 4500.

Guys, I busted a billet output shaft w/ 500ish HP. Just an FYI, and a vote for a full rebuild the right way, clutches and all, 4500.00 down, put the rest on a CCard.

Well yeah! 20+psi boosted 4x4 launch w/ traction, but 500 hp shouldn't have broke that shaft! What about these guys w/ 700-800hp, why do their shafts hold up drag racing, loose converters? Nevermind, my point is 500hp can do lots of damage to a tranny if you have a good TC.

It was one of a bad batch from Suncoast. I'm not sure who builds for them.

Ok thanks. I've 20psi launched mine a couple of times and nothing broke but I was a little concerned! My shafts are TCS according to my HTS receipt.

Ok now it makes more sense! You werent doing any thing wrong you had a bad shaft.

18 to 20 is the norm trust me there are guys leaving alot higher then that out there on stock outputs. Relentless has several trannys leaving with more then 20 on stock outputs and flexplates. I refuse to trust the stock flex plate and the input should be a given with any TQ and VB upgrades. The output shaft rarely tears up much of any thing.

ATS stage 4 transmission. Here's the break down for my costs:

Torque converter: $1280.00
Input: $860.00
Transmission: $2,240.00 (clutch packs, valve body, etc.. .)
Flex plate $480.00
Deep pan $280.00

A little over $4500, but sometimes the deep pan is included. Call around for better prices. Don't be shy -- chip away at their prices. Try to get free shipping. I got the co-pilot with mine, but you don't really need that. There are also cheaper flex plates out there (BD is one), but ATS has the better flex plate. I don't think I would go with laminated. Don't skimp on transmission upgrades. You'll regret it later on.

I've seen some grumblings before regarding ATS but they do have a lot of trannys out there so who knows.

I've searched and never found a bad thing said about HTS, or Goerend Brothers either.
