ATS would be my last choice but some have had good luck with them.

4500 is just short of what you need. personally id go goerend and not look back. id get the vb/tc, billet input and flexplate. that will hold 500 safely. plus allows you to pull and do a boosted launch every now and then.

Well I dont have one yet!!! Poor me!

...but from the extensive research, talking to vendors, and thinking about it for well over a year....I have decided that when I do get mine, it will be a Gorend.

I was right above $5k for what I needed from Dave...I told him what I had, what I was planning to do, and he told me what I needed!!

Give him a call, I have yet to hear A single negitive!

If you pick up the tranny and install it yourself, no shipping, no install cost you can get a complete tranny with billet input and some extras from Goerend for what you want to spend. Probably for less money you can take your truck to him and let him upgrade your current tranny and have almost the same setup.

That no core charge is a nice feature he has isn't it! With Goerend you do get a lifetime warranty on the converter though. Its a toss up really. Both are really good. I happen to LOVE my HTS trans. It shifts like it should... goes to 2nd gear at 15mph (light throttle) and 3rd gear at 25 (light throttle) and has been really really nice. Crisp but not neck breaking shifts. Gotta love it!

I think ATS is more well known like banks, but I can tell you HTS has top notch customer service and dusty will make things right. when I have been around him at Indy and Terre Haute they have a phone with them and he was constantly answering calls. I really think dusty and marianne are serious about making sure their customers are satisfied with their tranny. I can say from my own personal experience they are a good company and they are out at the events to see their customers using their trannies

Hts did great with mine also. Just ordered it with no core charge, swapped it out on a saturday and sent mine back the next week. Dusty was very nice and took the time on the phone with me to answer all my ?'s. He actually tried to sell me something cheaper but I went all the way so no more worries.

Why? Is ATS on the protected list or something? I didn't think HTS was a sponsor here but plenty of people talking much love about them all the time. (me included) why did your build garner attention (and then deletion?)
