Put my GDP 2 micron kit on tonight. Took the fleetguard filter out of the wrap and went to fill it with diesel when something caught my eye. Thought I saw something fall in the filter so i turned it over and nothing came out. Took my magnetic wand and stuck it in the filter and swirled it around seeing if it would pic up anything........picked up all kinds of tiny metal shavings.......WADAFA? Seems kind of odd that im putting on a filter that goes down to 2 microns and its got crap bigger than 2 microns in it......

Anyway, my question is the fuel outlet on the filter the center hole or the small holes on the outside edge of the filter?

on 90% of all spin on filters, the center is the clean side [including the fleetguard ones in the glacier kit]

 

well it wasnt the "clean side" on this filter. you guys might wanna check yours next time you put a fleetguard on. i ran a magnet throught it a couple times and then blew it out with an air hose.

i woulda just waited, but I have a full trailer of stuff and i need the truck tomorrow. darn it!
