help, codes, what to do

So I'm driving from florida to nc tonight, cruise set on 80, come up to a hill and the truck hesitates as the boost builds to hold the speed. By the time I notice it, its over, so I hit the trottle to test what happened and it does it again. Reach over and turn quad race box off, problem goes away. Wait a few miles, flip box back on and no problems. Notice the engine knocking a little bit few miles later so switch box back off again and instant check engine light, note when I turned off the box the engine was not under any hard load. Codes 0088 and 0148. Seems to run fine with box off now but funny sounding (knock) when box is on. what do I do? go to a dealer and have them check it? I'm out of town and have a broken shoulder, its bought impossible for me to pull my box off and I'm not sure my wife could. Should I pull it before I go in or just wait till I get back home. will this problem continue after its reset? I'm on the way to visit relatives and they all want to check out the truck so I hate to show up with a check light and no box power. thanks for help in advance.

Quad has another bulliten out about these codes, or a few. Try posting there and see if they can help. There are others, as for an answer, I can't help

The 0088 is from running with the box on L2 or higher then flipping it to the off position quickly. Basically we respoind too fast and the truck thinks there is a problem when everything goes from modified to stock. That problem has been addressed in the newest flashes.

0148 has been caused by many different things. Typically there is some sort of issue on the low pressure side of the fuel system. I seen it be a weak lift pump, I have seen it be a really dirty filter. 0148 is a fuel delivery error.

The new fix may help with it, but it is hard to say. Almost always that code will not affect the way the truck runs. If your truck started to run a little funny you might look at your filters, both fuel and air.

The codes will clear on their own in a day or so provided there is not an issue. Until you can get the update just don't take and rip the switch through the positions.

thanks for the info quad.

I went to the dealer for fear of being stranded out of town, truck only has 5k miles on it now, took the box off and they said there was the high rail pressure code and cleared it, no problems. No questions asked. should I hook the box back up now?

Most likely the module is fine, it does need new software at some point, but there are thousands running the version that you are running now.

The 0088 or what they think is the high rail pressure is merely from change positions fast or from truning them from a high position to off really quickly. This has been addressed for a while now and does not come up very often. We basically amke changes too quickly and the PCM thinks there is a problem.

Quick question for Quad, sorry not trying to hijack this thread, Have a zxt box that was reflashed late summer, early fall Aug/Sept time line. Getting 0148 & 2127 codes last few days. Lift pump quit Thanksgiving weekend and was replaced. Now getting codes last few days. final straw, truck quit this am. Dealer tells me that the high pressutre pump quit, (it's a 2004.5 325/600) . Any ideas if it could be related to anything on the box or as I think just a coindiance? Had truck towed to local dealer this am and now 2 pm just got diaganosis. I'm using their computer to ask this question. Probably won't get to read response till later this pm.

Thansk as usual for any assistance....Don
