help with aftermarket gauges!!!
help with aftermarket gauges!!!
I am planning on putting on some after market gauges on my 03 5.9. the only thing on it is a smarty jr. can any one give me some recommendations on electronic or regular gauges. pros and cons. thanks darrin
Personally I like mechanical gauges, easier to pinpoint problems if any. I also like the look of extra matching gauges in the truck. Some electronic units will read to a certain level which may or may not be high enough, such as boost (for kits that utilize the stock sensors for info)
I really love my Isspros, they have been great.
I would look here, these ppl are good at getting full kits put together.

I had isspro mech. guages on my 04.5. Only problem I had was a bulb burning out, but cheap to replace/fix. I had an auto tranny so I monitored Tranny Temp, EGT, Boost, and Fuel Press at the lift pump. If youve got a manual tranny you can skip the tranny temp guage. But the rest are pretty necessary on a common rail.
I bought mine from Diesel Manor, as a package deal. They have decent prices and lots to choose from.
