Heeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllp!!!!!

Ok fellas here's the deal.. When installing the twins you need to remove the oil freeze plug below the oil filter for a second oil return line once I got the cap loose I went to get it out with some pliers and it fell into the oil pan!!!! I took the oil pan off to no avail our awesome engineers made it so that it is not possible to remove the oil pan without pulling the motor and trannny!!!! I sooo don't want to do that.. I have talked to some really good memeber's on here and it seems that I might be able to lift the motor up to get enough room in there to possibly push the aluminum cap towards the back of the oil pan near the drain hole.. Keep in mind that it is now folded dang near in half so once I get it near the drain hole it should be able to fall out of the hole or be convincec!!!

Any suggestions input would be greatly appreciated. Keep in mind that the plug us aluminum so a magnet is no good... It is useless today a storm moved in with 65 mph winds and I am watching it blow like crazy at the moment... I will be back at it tomorrow...

On a good note the Twins are done!!! I just need to get rid of this little problem re-plenish fluids and fire the beast!!!!

Thanks fellas

Shane

I got a plasma cutter. we can cut that x member and fab you up a new one.

On a lighter note, I think your best route would be to raise the motor up a bit. Unbolt the front mounts and leave the tranny in, raise it up and try to get the pan off that way. Being aluminum is going to be hard to get it out of there.

Very strong magnet and a piece of string? How about salad tongs? If you can get ahold of the local bomb squad or a surgeon they have tools for inspecting improvised explosive devices and doing surgery on knees, shoulders, etc. Think you could fish it out with a coat hanger?

its just in the pan...its not going to hurt anything. there are lots of guys that have done that and left it in there.

if you had a extension magnet tool you should be able to get it out of the pan with it removed and slid to the side a little.

PM sent.

Its no major deal. A little magnet will do the trick. Might have to drop the pan from the back side of the motor, just be easy on the gasket and retorque after some heat cycles.
