heater grid delete ?
heater grid delete ?
I'm putting a ATS arc flow intake on i was thinking of deleting my heater. But,the question is do i need to or not? The temp gets down to single didgits sometime. Will it still be alright to do this? And if i order the glacer delete what elese do i need to do so it won't throw a code?
i did the grid delete last year before winter. when it got cold the truck still started easy but it ran rough for a few seconds w/ lots of smoke. it also threw a code since the wait to start light was coming on and the ecu was looking for the voltage drop from the heater grid.
i installed the block heater and plugged the truck in overnight, that kept it warm enough so the wait to start light never came. this kept the engine light off and it started up nice ans smooth and had heat alot sooner as well.
if you dont mind plugging in your truck everynight then i say go for it, but if its too much of a hastle then you may as wellm leave the grid in place. i think im gonna replace mine since plugging in the truck got old after a while.
