Having issues with smarty and update

Im trying to download the latest and greatest programming off the MADS website. The problem I am having is the USB update program will not update my programmer.

It gives me the error "FTD2XX.DLL file not found"

Anyone have an idea of what Im doing wrong?

you don't have the driver install correctly. Try deleting everything and reinstall the driver first and then the program

I can't say the driver is definitely the problem but, it's easy enough to start over with. I'm running Vista too so it does work. Clear your cache in your browser, delete any current smarty installs you have and start over. Download the driver and install it then download the smarty program

from their web site

* Before using SmartyUSB program to download the upgrade software, the USB driver has to be installed.
To do this, please follow these simple steps:

1. Unzip the driver files into a new folder
2. Plug Smarty in the USB port of your Microsoft Windows® based computer
3. Windows finds a new hardware and asks for the drivers. DO NOT allow Windows to install the
default driver. Suggest instead to Windows the folder with the files extracted from driver file as
Smarty driver

For further details please see the " Smarty USB driver installation guide" in the Documentation section
(Windows Vista automatically installs the correct driver)

I am running Vista Home Premium. I let the normal Vista new hardware found process install the driver it found. This process worked on mine. I just wanted to see if Vista could locate and install the correct serial to USB driver, on mine it did. Not saying don't use the driver available on the Mads site, because that was needed for XP, but might try the normal Vista process first.
