H2 wheels?

I have the opportunity to buy some new H2 take offs real cheap. Just wondering, I know about the mods that need to be done, but is there a difference in the actaul wheel width?
Am I changing anything other than just looks?

Thanks

H2 wheels are 8.5" wide OEM's are 7.5 or 8.0". I've had the chrome ones since January and I am very happy with them. Backspacing is about 1/2" difference so the 315's stick out of the fenderwell about an inch.

Yeah I put a set on a couple of weeks ago. I wish I had done it sooner. No rubbing and the truck looks better with a little bit bigger tires. It also smoothed out the ride some with bigger tires to absorb some of the bounce.

You need to hone out the centers to .4774, their .450 in their current un-modded form. Look for a poster named "Hoot" on here, he has posted a very good tutorial on this subject.

It's stock, no rubbing. H2 wheels have a little different offset then stock wheels. I haven't heard of anyone with H2 wheels having a rubbing problem.

Does anyone know what the load rating is on the H2 wheels? Are they built to handle the weight that we put on them?

If someone has rubbing problems, where would they rub at?? I just put a set on last night and want to know where to look to see if there is a rubbing problem. With about 50 miles on them so far, didn't notice or feel any rubbing.

See my reader's rig for pics. I put the chrome H2 rims on in Jan.05 and really like the way they look. Smoother ride, nice finish to the truck. They only RUB in front when fully turned and hitting bumps or dips at 10+ mph. No lift or leveling kit either. Don't know the backspacing or offset of the rim - just know that they fit good.

Hey

My Bro just bought a set of 4 of the black hummer rims. His Ram is gray. Looking at your hummer pics. I think the black rims on a gray truck would look SICK. He's gonna paint the brake calipers red afterwards. I think it's gonna look good after the transformation is done . Ill try to take some pics to show you after it's done.
