A friend of mine gave me a ride last weekend in his Subaru WRX STi. He has an aftermarket Clarion head unit with the 7" screen. On the screen, he was able to display MPH, RPM, EGT, fuel pressure and fuel injector pressure. He's still waiting for the boost electrical wire to show up. The guage info would either show up in an analog display or a graph display. It was a pretty generic looking graphic, but it got the job done. Something like this would be PERFECT for our trucks!

The system he is using is called the HKS Camp System, http://www.alamomotorsports.com/HKS/hks_camp_info.html, which has actually been discontinued for the past 3 years, but he found it on eBay and has been piecing together the different display features for the last couple of months. Instead of using their display monitor, he uses his 7" Clarion monitor and it uses up one of the inputs. He has a remote that shoots over to a box mounted under the passenger seat, which allows him to toggle between the different displays and graphs.

It's a very slick setup, I'm just wondering if anyone has done anything like this for our trucks. Does anyone have any info?

check into aladin they use it in the high end coachs it piggy backs on the data buss but Im sure you could find out how to hook it up on the obd data buss or "one wire can" not sure what we run in these rigs for data transfer

 

That would be a sweet set-up. You could put it in radio mode and the dealer would have no idea about guages.... Keep us posted
