Gtech Pro SS

I haven't seen but a few comments here and there about Gtech/Pro's SS performance meter. Does it actually get anywhere close to reading what a dyno will?

dyno isnt very accurate, however with that being said if yu establish your baseline numbers with it ,it will show improvements made by mods. the gtech pro is an excellent tuning tool that we use a bunch. only down fall is hard launches will send it into a sort of default mode and it wont logg the run...

I have a gtech RR. I use it primarily for tuning my Miata, roadrace and autocross my Miata. It is truly a VERY accurate instrument. It has been spot on with race times. I have yet to use it with my Dodge, but I can imagine it will equally as accurate as it is with the Miata.

Since a dyno is measuring more or less raw power without other co-efficients like wind/drag, tire/drag, and weight/drag it has it's purpose. With the gtech you are looking at your performance in application. I prefer to see the application side because I am out in the field putting down the rubber to the ground, true competition measurements.

That's what I figured, that it would be accurate to less than ideal conditions. I see where the RR comes with a cable to hook up to the computer, is there a cable available for the SS model or is it not capable of hooking up to a computer?

RR is computer capable, SS is not as far as I know or have seen. $100 more for the computer capability.

Hello,

I have one and have never gotten the tack part to work correctly on the diesel. It is fine on the gassers. Any ideas to get it to recognize the rpm?

Mine reads the rpm's, no problems whatsoever. I would have pressed them for more information.

Their website has a ton of information in thrir forum and the manual has a lot too.

I haven't dyno'd my truck, but my Miata is about 2-3% difference.
