did you go through all the gears a few times before you tried to move the truck, you have to make sure all the air is out, plus who ever put in the trans. needed to be extremely clean or you can clog up the passages in the plates.

Just put 16 qts in my killer KH special 47RE today. It was doggy for several minutes of driving. Getting air out and frictions seated. Billet 3 clutch TC is a horse.

When I got my Goerend tranny, I think it took 17-18 qts to fill with a stock pan. I believe it's 7 qts for just a filter change.

I didn't notice any real loss of low end power with mine. Dave put a fairly tight TC in mine and I did notice that right away, but only because it drove so much better. Definitely didn't take more power to make it move.

Any more news? Did you check the fluid yet to see if it was low?

I went back and looked at my receipts when I installed the tranny. I bought 18 qts. If I remember correctly I bought a couple more to top it off....

If I put my Smarty on 0, I don't think I could pull an old lady in a wheelchair.... my truck will just not move... it takes the truck forever to reach hwy speeds..?
So far I think my tranny is shifting better with the Dextron III and Lube Guard. I have been able to drive around with my shift enhanser on
Daily, instead of Tow to eliminate the 2-3 flare/cutloose. My temps stayed where they were with the ATF+4.

Once again did you do the correct procedure for checking the trans fluid in real world, not some reciept?

When Dave did my tranny, I am sure he said 20-22 quarts to fill it up. He also told me they do even better when overfilled a bit.

It sounds like your VB's not puttin out the correct pressure to ingage. Did you also purchase the VB or using the stock one?
