got my ladder bars installed.....

I've seen a few questions about ladder bars lately and thought some may be interested in seeing some installed.

I know a lot of guys don't care to spend a lot on them but, I really believe in "you get what you pay for" and people are in business for a reason.... not to give stuff away.

These are GDP bars and they weren't very cheap but, they're built like a brick ~EDIT~ house. In addition, for the use of this forum, profane posts should be considered those completely spelled words, or partially spelled words with use of keyboard symbols that suggest a profane meaning. We repeat, profane posts will absolutely not be tolerated on this website and its forums.

Nothing against the Voodoo bars Wicked is selling but, welding bars or a bracket to the frames of our trucks isn't a good idea. The frames are paper thin and it wouldn't take much at all to blow through them with a torch or welder of some kind. This was brought up on another forum....

" The 3G frames are hydro-formed and its not recommended you weld to them. They have strict guidelines on where to even drill in them. Hydro-formed frames are like spring steel and will crack if not drilled properly"

They do unbelievably well. Where I live is nothing but whiny snake road. The truck now handles like a sports car through the turns. I also used to be able to spin the tires when barely stepping on it. Now, it takes a bit more go go juice to get them going. It well known that without weight in the back of our trucks you can get a lot of wheel hoop just cruising down the interstate. It made for a pretty jumpy ride. With the bars now installed... that's been complete eliminated.

That looks great! The color match is awesome.

I've seen alot of bars but none look as good as GDP's... I still can't get over how it completely changed how the truck drives.

Hey Shane,

Not a bit. I've never had the truck fourwheeling... But the occasional going through the ditchs around the farm have never caused a problem.

I measured last night. They are 5"-6" inches below the frame on the front mount. I figure if I ever get into a situation where it is a problem, I'll back up and take a different angle.

Plus I like to be able to see them because they are SWEET!

Is there a functional difference in this style and the style with one bar going to the bottom of the axle?

Are you talking about the single bar that is fixed mounted at the frame and axle?

thanks to the compliments.

goodeyesniper75... no, they aren't cheap. They are built much better than others I've seen though. My only compliant is.. for the price, they should at least have came with urethane bushings.

They seem like they'd do the same thing for way less money?
(I'd be more interested in functionality rather than how cool they look)
