Got Drunk and bought a Banks 6 gun and speed loader.

Ok guys had a few beers and bought a Banks 6-gun and speed loader from my cousin for a $100.00 bucks. I have a Van Aaken 3.1. How does the Banks compare to the Van Aaken. Should I try it on my truck or just put it straight on E-bay?

Get rid of it on Ebay, don't let that infection on your truck. Take the money earned and get something else.

I'd say stick er on and try it and see which one you like better. Sell the one you don't like.

Banks doesn't have the monster HP that some do, but I think they've got some good stuff, just overpriced. Obviously that wasn't an issue here though.

I think I may try it and see how the truck acts. The Van Aaken for the horse power gives the most torque of the smaller pressure boxes and I like it. Just shooting the bull and asked him if he would sell it and he shot me the $100 so I thought why not. I wouldn't mind a few extra ponies if the Banks can give a little more. I had a Edge EZ fisrt and it had more horsepower than the VA but the truck tows better with the VA. Torque curve starts sooner I think. What the heck if I don't like it I'll pull it off and sell it.

The Banks starts the "torque curve" as you put it, later in the powerband... so you may still like the VA over the Banks. The Banks, with the speedloader, on 6 will give a few more ponies on the top than the VA.

Said it before, I don't like pressure boxes for daily driving... shortens injector life.

Amen^^^

One thing to consider is that installing that Banks is one big royal PITA!!! Once you get it on, you won't want to remove it because of all the trouble it is. Expect to take about 6 hours to do it right.

I'd say e-bay it and get a smarty. Much simpler and you'll be more satisfied in the long run.

Next time you get drunk, order a set of gauges for the A-pillar. The three gauge type. Then sell them too me for next too nothing! Just kidding! I make sure I never go shopping online with the check card handy after I toss down a few! For real, sell it and get a Smarty.

Already have the gauges and a-pillar, I really like the VA. In day to day driving I never run the box anyway. Bone stock 95% of the time. I've had the VA for about 5 years and use it for towing with the camper or horse trailer. Probably just e-bay it and might buy a v VA 3.2. I really don't care for the down loaders.

ok

i'd keep the 3.1.. if not I'll buy it! sweet moderate power increase.

i'm sure the banks with speedloader will give you some more, but it is a pita to install, and to me, the more connections the more for stuff to go wrong.

personally, dont bother with the 3.2.. waste of money. egt's are plain goofy and i personally timed the 3.2 vs other other programmers/chips and the 3.2 sucked. sorry, it's true!

keep the 3.1, sell the banks on ebay!
