Talking got dad addicted!

well saturday i went to see Doug from PDW to drop off my head for machine work. while there he offered to throw a SMARTY tune in the old mans 04 for a trial run so we put it on the highest setting and dad went for a ride. his truck felt super strong and he was all smiles when it broke the 33's loose from a roll. i drove it a few mile too and loved every bit.

then we came home and he decided to finally straightpipe his truck after me trying to talk him into it for a year, so we threw a muffler delete pipe on it. now, its time for an intake, and his own smarty so he can play with his truck too!

Sweet... I tried to get my dad to mod his 03 FOREVER and it never happened until I took him for a 4wd launch... Now he's hooked.

Next your dad will have to get a tranny/clutch then he will be loving life

yea right, no tranny for him, i doubt he will get the smarty, but the intake is possible. his biggest influence is our neighbor (his best friend) also with an 04 who "knows everything"

here are his thoughts:
-edge is junk and a juice/attitude wont make any power difference on a truck with 35's
-banks is the best out there, he spent $3600 on a power PDA, TC, shift modules, exhaust, and intercooler, and the banks rep told him to just put a K&N in the airbox as its the best out there
-the dodge tranny and TC will only hold the stock HP/TQ levels, so anything over stock will kill it
-a stock 3rd gen intercooler will fit my 2nd gen truck and make it run better
-the 3rd gens use the same D60 front axle as the second gen trucks
etc etc

All the more to prove him wrong!

As for his thoughts -
1. False
2. False, but better than nothing,
3. Somewhat true. In the long run, I believe that added performance will take away from the tranny lifespan. Do a search, it really is necessary to get gauges first & then do some minor tranny upgrades before really putting the pedal to the metal.
4. 3rd Gen Intercooler will fit w/ a little modification to the body. Someone had pics a couple days ago.
5. Completely FALSE
