Well we were all wondering when........so I see it finally happened Shane!!

I'll be curious to see which direction you go with a built trans. Im right behind you. I have been very impressed with the 48RE!!! 84K and holding here. (for now)

Good luck with the decision...AND the LIGHTER wallet!

I did talk to Dusty at hts and Dave at goerend.. Very, very knowledgeable people and helpful.. but after talking to Dave at Ultimate transmission and what he told me would be done the decision was easy... Plus I don't have any shipping charges he's only an hour and a half away. I can trailer the truck up there and he can un-install and re-install drive it and make sure it's all happy!!

It's a Torque converter, Opie input, intermediate, and output shaft, shift kit, some special blend of tranny fluid, and a whole bunch of trany re-working.. To be honestly he started going into details and I am not much of a knowladgeable tranny person so I was waaay overwelmed.. But when I get it done and back I will have all the details!!! She's headed up Sunday!!

I spoke to Dave a few times from IRAQ last week when I ordered my trans. He was very helpful and really seemed to know his stuff. I guess it is hit or miss and maybe I got lucky. I really wanted to do the trans myself as I do all my own for the race cars, but I wanted to have it sitting there ready to be installed when I got home. If it ever needs redone, I will do it. Good luck with the new trans.
