I tow at 1600rpm @ 65 mph and I don't even break 2000rpm until 83 mph and you think my gearing is fine. I want to be able to tow @ 1800+ rpm and I think 2000rpm @ 75 would be optimum. Where is my logic wrong?

Yeah, with 4.10's these things haul *** when you tow. It's a cool feeling passing the Chevy 1500 towing a little bass boat from a dead stop while you have about 5-7k behind you. Yeah that's not a good comparison but it's still fun.

Something is wrong...3.73's and 35's DO NOT give you 83 mph at 2000 rpms.

yea i honestly dont see that happening cause lets say the 35s drop my 4.10s down to a 3.73 ration... im seeing around 70 mph at 2000 rpms. i also have my speedo corrected..

At 2000 rpm I'm right at 80 mph (GPS). I have 3.73s, 325/70-17 (35s) and a 48RE. Towing up to and around 10,000 lbs is fine with this setup, but much more than that and I'd want 4.10s.

37's,4.10s give me about 80 mph @ 2000rpm.Thats down to about 1500 @ 55mph. I would not want any lower rpm for sure.

Heck, I wish I had 3.55's in mine! I don't tow and would love to drop rpm's down a couple hundred while cruising.
