going to 285s

Hey guys going down to 285s for the winter. Will I need a spacer?

A spacer for what? The wheels?

I ran 285's for 3 winters without issue or a need for a spacer, and had room for HD chains.

Do you run one for your 35's?

It will be very close. I know on 2nd gen rims they would have touched. I used a 1.5" spacer and that was plenty. But then of course I had to cut down the lugs.

Yeah, close. Probably depends on which tire you choose and how heavy you're loaded.

Im with him....Why would you need spacers?

I believe his concern is that the rear dually tires would contact each other, or the inboard fender well. You shouldn't need a spacer for the inside, but most 285s require a small spacer between. There may be a few models of tire that are more narrow and wouldn't need one.

I didn't catch the dually part with all the other go fast parts in his sig..

I would say they are necessary.
