Goerend or HTS

Well, I have narrowed it down to either one of these 2. I really can't find any bad info. on either & i'm stuck. the price difference will be about $500 for what I'm getting(FULL TRANNY MINUS BILLET SHAFTS) with the HTS being more. The Goerend warranty is better by 70K mi./ 1 yr.. Both are at least 1,000 miles from me. Soooooo, why should i pick one over the other?

Why are you getting a fully built tranny without billet shafts. You have an 06, so it's not like the tranny is worn out. If you aren't going to make enough power to need billet shafts, then all you really need is a TC and VB - JMO.

I can't say anything about HTS but my Goerend has been great and Dave's torque converter has a lifetime warranty if you opt for that set up.

If I were you I would get a TC and VB, you don't need a whole billet tranny yet. That is what is next for me, the TC and VB. I think I am going with the HTS valvebody, I have heard great things. Then again Goerend makes a great tranny too! I don't think you can go wrong with either.

One thing is for certain, you can't go wrong with either of them.

Goerend does have a much better warranty though. Longer on the tranny and lifetime on the TC.

Like the others mentioned, why a built tranny without billet shafts though? Unless you've already torn up your '06 trans then just installing the new parts in yours might be a cheaper/better option. That's what I did...had Dave install his parts in my stock '06 tranny.

x2 on that. most places will tell you to get the billet input. alot of places I talked to said they wont put a tranny in without the billet input. I would for sure buy another hts. I think dave can build a tranny really well also. he would be my 2nd choice. he knows his stuff and so does dusty. if you get one go directly thru hts it takes away some confusion. I had mine shipped here then had it installed locally. ive met the hts crew and they are good ppl

Having just gone through this whole process myself, narrowing it down to these two, I ended up with Goerend's. The why ended up being cost and warranty. HTS, to their credit can boast some of the fastest trucks using their trannys and have a couple of proprietary things they do. Having said that, I couldn't be happier with my Goerend's. It shifts and does everything perfectly. It is a leap of faith to put all that money out there without really knowing what you will end up with in terms of your expectations... I was totally satisfied with the result I got.

Goerend gets my vote. My buddy has an HTS and it seems to work well also, and I met Dusty at Indy diesel drags, he seems like a good guy. But I have delt with Dave a few times and a few of my other buddies have also and I just can't ever see going to a different trans guy than Dave Goerend, he is a super stand up guy and really goes the extra mile - make that goes an xtra thousand miles to make sure your happy with your setup.

Factory tranny- 3 TC's, 2 VB, 2 Input shafts & bushings,2 OD solenoids, flashed 4 times & a few other things all before I ever put any performance mods on it in under 14K miles w/ no towing & babying it. Last time I got it fixed they said it was full of metal shavings 'cause the front bushing was wasted so I'm scared of investing ANY $$$ into it. I tried like hell to get a new one from DC, they said NO,NO,NO! Now that I won a LL case against DC, I'm buying my own, better tranny. As far as the DTT goes, the local guy is about $1200 higher than these 2.
