Get rid of 3rd injection event???
Has anyone heard of a way to reprogram a 325/600 motor and get rid of the 3rd injection event using a tuner or programmer??
The benefits being better fuel economy right? Just a thought because all the timing and injection control is electronic so it seems like this would be possible.

I recall one of the programming experts on here (maybe it was Qzilla) commenting that the late timing on the 325 motors contributed to poor mileage a lot more than the 3rd injection event did.

I'm hoping the announcement that the Smarty Jr. POD program will soon be available will help out a lot to improve my fuel mileage.
The fact that it's going to be a free download is the icing on the cake!!

So how is it a truck like Tim Barber has(04 I think) is making 1100hp on 2 injection events and everyone says that making an 04.5 and up run on 2 will not work?Come on guys,I know someone has a technical answer.

The 3rd event is not the culprit in mileage loss. Much more impact is seen from the retarded injection timing, and, cam grind and valve timing which is the reason why just removing the 3rd event does not work.
Its entirely possible to recalibrate the ECU to a single or 2 events and install a cam grind that is correct for injection timing. Its just not efficient, or legal for that matter, to do so.

It wouldn't sound eactly like the 24V but it would be closer. The engine redesign for the CR's also had some things in it to reduce the noise and that you are stuck with.
