That is correct, both should be better than stock.

The MPC pipe fits BOTH elbows exactly and at it's smallest point is exactly 1/4" small I.D. than the rest of the pipe with a smooth radius on both sides where it is smaller. Also The part is ceramic coated for heat, not powder coated as in the add.

Not saying it doesn't fit either elbow... Look at the photo's posted and you will see the difference. The MIT promotes smoother flow, but the MPC is still better than stock.. But for $10 more, I think you get better performance.

Personally I like Diesel Power Products Cool Hose. Replaces the whole tube with a smooth silicone hose. Pain in the neck to get on there, but I like the 1 piece aspect and silicone should block more heat out of the intake. $119 right now.

Did you do a TAG with it?

Nope, just the hose by itself. I don't quite buy into the TAG benefiting that much. It might work, but I wasn't going to spend another $130 on something I didn't have proof would actually help.

I know what you mean. One of the reasons I like the MIT and MPC, Cummins said the lower vanes make the turbo up to 30% more efficient.

I ended up buying the Airaid MIT from Genosgarage. I like that stock look, plus it has the ends that are tapered and look like it just fits better overall.

The curvature is better to, as like the other guy said MIT won't promote turbulance maybe.

When I change my oil I always remove that tube to get to the oil filter easier, more room to work up top. So for me the silicone or afe torque tube was just out of the question as I keep reading they are hard to get off and on, I was wanting something thats easy to take off and on.

Hope to get it soon, gonna remove the silencer ring too... hope its not to loud, especially on a long trip. Will have to give it some test trials.

I plan to leave in the lower vanes also.

I think you will be very happy with the MIT. The only thing I didn't like was that I didn't get one sooner!

I have my ring out and its not loud at all.. Just enough to keep me happy, but doesn't fail the wife test.. Heck I am not even sure she noticed.

I used a $10 piece of aluminum tubing. Find it at big rig shops.
