GDP Pump and Warranty

All, i'm going to be ordering either of the GDP Kits....the elec 392 or the mechanical one that's pully driven.....

I know the "pay to play" thing.....i'm more concerned that if i blow an injector (without running a pressure box)....and they deny me my warranty becasue of the fuel pump...or something similiar...e.g. an indirectly related part...anyone have any experience with denial of warranty due to an aftermarket fuel pump? Given all the fuel pump probs there have been historically, do they cut us any slack? Thanks in advance!

Cut us some slack? Sure, just like they do with the 48RE's when they burn up.

You would have to have one really cool dealer to fix injectors under warranty with an aftermarket fuel pump installed like that. They can easily say you opened up the system to contaminants and that's why the injector went out.

Yeah, i figured that'd be the answer....just needed confirmation.....so now i have to determine if i stop at the smarty / trans or continue on with the gdp / turbo and throw my warranty out the window with 10k on the truck....I'm sure logic will prevail! GDP here i come! :-)

why don't you ride your warranty out for a bit and then start the serious mods...?

I've put 10k on in the first year of ownership (so that means 2.5 more years), am getting the trans done (DTT), love the smarty and want to use level 5, 7, 9......

I'm thinkng i can use 5, maybe 7 w/o the turbo / fuel pump....but to really get to 7 or 9 i'm assuming i need a fuel pump.....and to really watch egts....

Basically, smoke em if you got em....and i have the smarty....tired of restraining myself....e.g. i've had it on level 3 for almost 9 months....tired of being responsible...

I suppose i'll see how it does....if i really like 5 or can run 7 w/o draining the rail or too high of egt's i'l definately wait for the gdp and turbo....if not....
