GDP Mk-2 big line kit

GDP Mk-2 big line kit
Well,
I think I have decided to install the glacier diesel 2 micron filter with big line kit between my stock filter and the CP3. I lost one injector at 12000 miles and I can only figure that its ultimate cause is dirty fuel/ inadequate filtration. Seems like these injector failures are far too common. How often should I change the fleetguard 2 micron filter with the MK-2? Also, should I run the fleetguard stratapore 7 micron before it or the 10 micron (cause it might flow better with my stock lift pump??? ) in the factory filter housing? Thanks.

I've got the 7 micron in the stock housing. However I do have the Glacier fuel pump as well.
When you get the MK-2 big line kit there will be a fitting to allow you to monitor fuel pressure that you install inline with one of the lines in the system. It would be a good idea to install a fuel pressure gauge so you can monitor everything.
One thing about this fitting. Before you install it check it out and make sure there are no metal fines that haven't been completely machined off of the fitting. Mine had some and required a very small amount of cleanup.

and what is the differance between the "big line" kit and the regular MK-2? they both are advertised to flow up to 100 gal. of fuel.
there is a $34 savings between the 2...
thx

Big Line gets you 3/8" lines from the stock filter housing, to the 2um filter housing and to the CP3.
The regular MK2 reuses the stock 1/4" lines and banjo bolts that go between the stock fuel filter and the CP3. There is a section of rubber line between each and you tap in there.
Honestly I think it would be easier to install the big line kit than tap in to all that considering clearances.
Check out their installation manuals for more info.

I went with the big line version because I used their pump and had 3/8" lines all the way back to the tank.

The 1/4" line is very easy to install.
Move 2 clamps, then remove 1 piece of rubber hose. The new hoses w/2 clamps and Filter from GDP replace the 1 hose removed. That part of the install took about 5 min.
From what I have read the 1/4" line is good to about 600HP.

I push thru 3 filters on my OEM LP, so 2 is no biggie.
Run the Baldwin PF7977 in the OEM cansiter, and change them both at 15K miles if you don't have a fuel psi gauge.

How long have you been running the OEM LP with 3 filters like that. I was thinking about doing the GDP With cat 2 micron. Im worried my stock LP will take a dump some short while after the mod.
