gauges, analog or outlook?
k i really like the look of analog gauges specially on the pillar. trans temp, boost and pyrometer, but im fixin to have a triple dog which displays that good stuff and i could adjust on the fly from the moniter.... which do yall think? brand name suggestions are welcome too!
I have the triple dog and I went with the Isspro gauges. I like the looks of gauges in the truck but I plan on stacking later or maybe getting rid of the triple dog all together since I got it for free. I like how normal gauges have nothing to do with what box or chip you have so you can switch and not worry about it. The safety features that come with the Outlook would be very nice to have though. I guess its just all preference, by the way the Isspro's match real good during daylight so they look nice.
I stock Autometer, DiPricol and Isspro. We probably sell an equal amount of Autometer verses Isspro, with DiPricol last only due to being the new Optix Series. I also like having gauges seperate. Its just one last thing to have to worry about if other things crap out on you.
Although, many of the monitors that connect with the modules or programmers will also give you adjustable power levels with the touch of a button and you can set or change many parameters as well.
So I think it will all depend on how you want your truck set up and what features you need with how your using the truck too.

I too like the look of analog gauges. I also like the fact that I don't necessarily have to read and interpret numbers on a digital readout, just look at the position of the needle.
Ditto what 0425004X4 said about the Isspro's being a good match for the factory gauges. I have Di-Pricols and while they are a perfect match in daylight, at night, their lighting sucks. However, Di-Pricol is now making their Optix line of gauges that look the same during the day and are lit much better by LED's rather than an incandescent bulb. The Pyro Optix gauge also matches their other ones now intead of having such a huge dial in the center.
Or if you want to spend the bucks, instead of getting the Triple Dog, get the Juice with the A2 monitor which has virtual analog gauges on the screen.

im not doggin edge and i know its off topic.....and i appriciate yalls input, but my buddy has a contract with edge and we git to test all their new products, i am not impressed with any of it, especially the a2 and the drag comp upgrade on the comp module, a2 has to many software bugs and glitches, and the comp upgrade on my buddys truck felt abolutely NO different, yea but i like those isspro's haha i hear they match the pillar color and texture real good too.
I tend to lean towards the monitors due to the auto defueling, alarms etc. I mean if hte triple dog is what I wanted to run I would run the outlook and an analog tranny temp. the a-2 is completely gay IMO though. the thing is expensive and huge. I like my juice though. I run the over the mirror mount than leave room for the pillar if you want to add fuel pressure and tranny temp.
as for not being impressed with the edge stuff I have not used that many modules but I can smoke my 37's in level 3 and smoke my tranny in level 5 so on a stock truck the juice is a decent mod. I think the triple dog is proably good as well though. there is not just one nice product for these trucks. there is a hot edition. I mean if power if really your main concern you should be getting the TST IMO. the adjustablity is the best

Opinions are like noses and everyone has one; some just blow harder than others.

Get both. It's only money.

Definitely get what you like or you won’t be happy with it. There are good arguments for, and pros and cons to both. I have had them all over the years. From my experiences, I have grown to like digital much better, especially if you want multiple readings. The cool features the digital gauges give you are a plus. I found it easier to focus on one gauge and pull 4 numbers from it than to scan the pillar and focus on 3 separate gauges one at a time. The best thing about digital to me is the recall feature. I like not having to stare at my gauges to know what is going on. If I get on it to pass someone, I keep my eyes on the road until I get the rear end straight again, then just hit a button and it tells me what all my readings were during that little fiasco. Comes in real handy at the drag strip also….just run and look at what was going on when your done. With analog, you have to watch it during the event to know what happened. All of my friends with analog that run at the strip with me, I can ask them at the end of the run what their EGTs were and most will say "don’t know - didn’t have a chance to look at it" or "forgot to look". Now that I have done digital, I won't ever go back to analog. That's just me though.
Another nice thing about the X-monitor is your don't HAVE to look at it... you can srt alarms to go off at a specific value so you can keep your eyes on the road! It also records the max value.

. The recall feature I must admit is a pretty neat function. I like the analog face because I can just glance at the dial and get a ball park figure of where my EGT's are; 12:00 around 800deg, 3:00 around 1300 deg, 6:00= roasting hot dogs. If I had digital I would have to end up getting some glasses I have a prescription for.
I do however run a digital for my FP. It doesn't have a recall feature but I don't need it. I mean, it's not like I'm running a FASS and need to see how far my pressure dropped on a run down the track.
