Gauges

I moved this here as well. I guess I put it in the gen 2 by mistake. I'm still learning the board.

I'm going to install a 3 pod of gauges on my 06 mega. Along with the Trans temp, and egt what other gauge is most benifical. Right now I'm thing a boost gauge.

Also how diffucault are the censors to install. I'm sure I can manage but are their any tips or tricks I might want to know.

I'm thinking of a pillar pod but I seen a three gauge pod that installs above the rear view mirror. Anyone using that setup and how easy is it to see?

Thanks for any help.

Trans temp is easy, there is a dummy plug on the front passenger side of the tranny. (if you have an auto) EGT needs to be drilled and tapped pre turbo in the exaust manifold (there are more than one ways to do this, and locations) and the boost needs to be drilled and tapped in the intake horn. Make sure to get a gasket for your intake horn, mine ripped when I pulled it off. (they are cheep from a cummins dealer)
I have a custom built guage pod that is not finished yet, but feel free to look in my pictures to see what it is.

Good luck!!

BTW, fill out your sig so we know what you have. Go to user CP in the top left part of the page, then edit signature. Welcome to the DTR!!!

Boost and fuel pressure, in that order I guess¿
If you add a chip or programmer you'll wanna watch the fuel pressure, my Bully Dog draws it down to zero when you get into it...

I have the over head four gauge mount as well as the three gauge A pillar mount. The overhead is OK to see but I like the A pillar more. I have 7 gauges in all so the overhead was over flow.
