I have one on my dodge, had one on my old duramax. I think they are pretty handy.

I love it. You can control the oil flow down to a trickle if you want. The old way can increase your odds of making a big mess and it's harder to get an oil sample if you are sending it off for analysis.

That thing is awesome. The only thing I did to make myself feel better is to add a piece of fuel line on the end and then put a bolt in it. Just in case the valve accidentaly got opened somehow. I don't see how it could happen but.......

The fumoto is a great idea but in principal you still have to take it out if you want to drain all the oil. It sticks up inside the pan a little. I've heard about a quart is left in the pan. Don't know from experience, just passing along what I've heard.

From what I understood, the earlier year vehicles had that problem and the valve could be modified, supposedly that isn't an issue with our newer vehicles.

I'll find out when I do my first change with the valve....plan to remove it after I drain to see how much more comes out.

I am thinking about ordering one of these today too. Where are you planning on buying yours from? Genos?

I have one from genos and i love it...you could drain the oil in church clothes and not get dirty. I dont know if it leaves much in the pan, i remember setting the oil gun on 3 gallons and that pretty much fillled her up... + .5 qts or so...

I wouldn't want to either, but guess what, the valve goes where your drain plug goes... i'm confused why you think it would leave any more or less oil than the stock plug???

Looks like they may have corrected the problem.
