fueling issues
i have been reading around that guys have had issues with bully dog extreme and crazy larry both causeing lost fuel pressure and draining the rail. so i have a stock pump and no gauge yet so i have now stayed away from tho's programs. i have been looking at the smarty tho from what i can see every buddy recomends that over all of them so i am thinking of selling my tripple dog and getting the smarty. are there programs with the smarty that haveing the stock pump and no gauge i should stay away from. also are there and common problems people have had with it and what is needed to run all the settings in the programer with out draining the rail or loosing fuel pressure and causeing damage to the truck?
It really depends on your truck, but on the normal 2.10 programs can suffice up to level 7, but going past that pretty much draws fuel pressure to 0. Level 5 is suggested in order to keep everything safe. Gauges are a must IMO, even on a stock truck, so keep those in mind. The Smarty is known for low egts, but its good to have the monitor.
you shouldnt need the rail gauge unless your moding heavily. The fuel pressure gauge is good to have.
If your wanting the power of the high end tunes then you need to get a lift pump. No idea why you would get rid of the BD for a smarty for that reason. Your stock pump wont keep up with either of them turned up.

if you plan to run big programs you have to get a fuel system of some kind like the glacier or an airdog. your stock lift pump cant keep up with the big program you are trying to run. your stock cp3 wont live long either running it dry both ways but maybe you have a local dealer that will fix it when it goes out under warranty
