fuel system ????
Well I finally finished my custom fuel system. Front half Scotty smart fuel, rear half custom. Half inch fuel pick up to a check valve/holley 60 micron high flow screen/ weldon 2005 fuel pump/0 to 15 pound 2040 weldon regulator. To the Scotty smart fuel system. Got it set at 10 pounds. The problem is the check holds pressure in the system to long and I think it is adversly affecting the starting. The stock lift pump wires fire up a relay to send power to the weldon pump. The stock system fires the pump for about 5 seconds to prime the system then kills power to the pump for startup. My check valve is holding pressure until it bleeds back through the regulator return line. the reason I added the check valve is , every time I worked on the pump there was never any fuel in the lines. So I figured making the pump start dry every time was a bad idea but now its a problem. Also have the fuel lines drain back to tank may keep the fuel from gelling. What do you guys think???? thanks , doug
