fuel pump ?'s

I'm planning to get a new fuel pump soon, I've been looking at Glacier diesel's walbro's. I was planning on a FASS, but I have heard a lot of negitive stuff about them lately. Too noisy, and a few other things that I cannot recal to mind, but I have a negitive feeling about buying one. I also wanted to run an inline fuel filter, 2 micron or so.

I need some info, please.

A few other questions that I had...

The lift pump is where the fuel filter is, right? Do I need to update that also? And the CP3, is that the rail pressure ?pump? ? I'm not planning to run 1000 HP yet, but I want some good fuel pressure, enough for 250 extra horses.
Kinda still iin diapers about most of this stuff, thanks in advance for your help!!!

Definitely buy a Glacier kit. I am a former FASS owner...never, ever again.

CP3 makes rail pressure. the lift pump pressure is the pressure of the fuel coming from the tank...this is the weak link. yours truly a lift pump, 05 and 06 model trucks have in tank pusher pumps.

If you run more than 20psi, putting a billet top on the fuel filter wouldn't be a bad idea. The plastic ones tend to break after 20psi. Genos sells this part.

the cp3 is your injection pump that supplies flow and pressure to the rail and then to the injectors.

So to summarize,

The Lift Pump/Pusher Pump provides a steady flow of fuel to the fuel filter then onto the CP3. A failure to maintain positive pressures (+5psi or greater) will cause premature failure of the CP3 ($$$$).

The CP3 provides thousands of psi to the injectors. Failure to maintain rail pressure will cause injector damage, poor performance and possible catastrophic failure. As well many members have had popping and surging issues with "dry rails"

This is just an observation which I have gathered over about 6 months of reading posts. Banshee, Masonic_Dodge and John_P schooled me on the dangers of low PSI and the effects oof a dead cp3....

Thanks for the info! So, as long as I have good pressure supplied to the CP3, I'm good, right?

This is what I'm looking at, bigger is always better for me, should I get the 392? Or is that overkill/would mess something up? Do I need the install kit?

Seems pretty cheep, compaired to a FASS kit...

Good deal. Does it come with the 392 pump, or do I need it?

It is the 391 which will provide roughly 20psi, this is the kit I am going with.

By the way, Semper Fi MadHat, I am a SSgt of 14.5 years!
