Fuel PSI

What fuel pressure would be adaquate to operate my truck with the Juice on Level 5. I determined that my increase in EGT and decrease in mileage came from the addition of the Walbro kit. I am not complaining about the kit at all but I think that I may be providing too much fuel. My mileage went from 16-18mpg to around 12 mpg. I am considering putting a fuel pressure regulator in line tothe fuel filter but I don't want to starve my lift pump of fuel supply.

Actually I have a fuel psi gauge on order. I can only imagine that my psi went up do to the increased EGT's and more black smoke with full throttle than before.

Your stock LP should be OK if you are just running one box. It will probably pull the pressure down to 0 psi though on a hard run. 8 or 9 psi is the standard on these 3rd gens. With an aftermarket pump like a FASS you will see around 18-20 psi....

Don't push so hard on the skinny pedal!

You are not less efficent than before...you have more power because your OEM pump was starving your CP3.

That is not a fair comparison. You are not pushing more fuel through than you need...

I find this post the most humorous of the week.

More likely it went down.

Rail pressure is falling like a rock and and the ECU is trying every way possible with event length and timing to make up for the lack of pressure. Too much of that and say bye bye to the CP3, possibly an injector or 2, maybe a piston.

oh no...

He has higher EGT's cause he is making more power now...not starving the injection pump. Level 5 on the Juice will run a stock lift pump dry.

More power on tap...more fuel burnt.
