Welcome to the Forum!

The 7 micron filter meets the Cummins spec, but extra filtration never hurt a thing. It boils down to personal preference.

If you don't know the service history, I'd change all the fluids with maybe the exception of the coolant, which I'd do at 100K.

I'm sure others will chime in with their thoughts as well.

I agree with the above to change all the fluids except the coolant.

Do some research here on fuel filtration and you will have hours worth of reading!!

Baldwin sells a 5mic filter that fits the stock canister which many people run. An additional 2mic filter set up is ideal though.

Many after market filters do not do the job that is required for the common rail diesels. Baldwin BF-7977 is a 5 micron filter and is a very good fuel/water seperator. The MOPAR and Fleetguard are 7 microns and good fuel/water seperators. The ratings on these filter are absolute. Many other brands are listed at these ratings but are nominal rated and some do not do a good job at fuel/water seperation. Water will kill an engine very quickly.

Many, including myself, have added additional filteration to 2 microns and a fuel/water seperator. As mentioned lots of reading on this subject.

I use Wix oil filters on my van but will never use a Wix fuel filter in my truck. It is about 10 microns absolute and is not a good fuel/water seperator.

The injectors have moving parts that are manufactured to 1/10,000 of an inch and are working at pressures up to 25,000 psi. Small particle will cause wear and can cause injector failure.

You don't want to use a filter that filters less than the recommended 7micron.

Bump it up at the Baldwin 7977 in the stock can and/or start looking at secondary filter options.

At 67k, has the 60k maintenance been done? If not, go for it. Get everything fresh and on your schedule.

Congrats on the new truck

I put a Donaldson-P551313 (short) or P5511311 (long) 2 micron filter on the frame rail near the fuel tank. This is mounted on a Wix 24770 filter base (fleetfilter.com). The hardest part was cutting the 3/8" s/s fuel line, then I used compression type fittings. I realize this set up would not work in cold climates, but it has worked for me for the past 50,000 + miles.
Good luck John
