Huh?

Now in English:

Someone told me that there is a front locker available for my 04 2500. Is this true? If so, is a rear locker far behind?

What is the cost for the front locker, and where can I get it?

Thank you for your help.
Oh okay, now I see what you are saying.

There is an ARB locker for the front, and it has been out for quite a while. You simply use the GM IFS 9.25 front locker. You can also purchase an Eaton E-locker, same deal. You can get it from any reputable drivetrain supplier, such as Randy's Ring and Pinion, Drivetrain Specialists, etc. The price for an ARB locker is the same as most, about $1000.

Hope this helps.

Didn't I read somewhere where the E-locker requires grinding of the Dodge housing?

Awhile back someone posted that they did, indeed, install the Chevrolet E-locker in the front of their Dodge with a little grinding.

Today, the Chevrolet part number is now listed to also fit the Dodge 9.25 front axle. With the new application comes a price increase. Most online vendors have increased the price by $200

I ordered mine a couple weeks ago and should be here today ($659).

djgaston, I checked the ARB USA Air Locker Applications pdf file (available here: http://www.arb.com.au/air_locker_loc...ferentials.htm, look at page 5 ) Arb doesn't list the AAM axle. Do you have more recent info? thanks.

bigdav, where did you find the Eaton Elocker w/ the dodge part #? Thanks.

Same part number as the GM just the Dodge is also listed.

I just read the small print at the bottom of the page:

Dodge applications require grinding on the axle housing.
If I have to grind to get the locker to fit, so be it.

Has anyone ran one of these succesfully in a pulling truck, I've known folks that have tried to weld the spider gears or run some type of locker in gas pulling trucks and start having trouble breaking axles where running an open dif they never broke an axle. So I'm thinkin with the added weight of the deisel engine sittin on top of this front axle this could cause some axle issues.

Thank you for the translation

It was a long day yesterday

So lockers are now available for the front and rear? What is the cost of installation? And finally If one can only afford one locker now where to put it? ( besides where the sun don't shine)

AFAIK, front only. Nothing for the rear yet.

I don't know, I do all my own wrenching. Never had a car in the shop.

I've had mine in for a full year and no problems yet. There is some grinding to do but I had diamond tip grinding burrs so the job went pretty quick.
