I saw a 4 mpg difference when set at the 130hp setting. Keep in mind though, that was over a 15 mile trip with very little incline at all. Also, that was going by the computer. Several post about mods say they've change the computer and made the overhead very inaccurate. I have not done a hand tabulated, full tank experiment with the 130hp setting. IMHO, the fun factor of the programmer would offset a 3 mpg deficet. Major smiles with the extra HP's.

Does anyone know if the programmer acts as a boost fooler as well? Can I put a boost elbow in with it? Instructions don't say.

Well I had to answer my own question.
Stock elbow 23 lbs boost. Put the elbow from a edge comp for an 02 in and got 32 lbs boost. Checked with the downloader and no overboost code.
I do get the code '0602' everytime I drive it though? It says that is 'ecm communication error'. Is anyone else getting that code? Comes back after clearing it three times so far.

I have my BullyDog on the extreme setting with an Edge EZ set to 4. EGT's are running around 600-650 at cruising speeds. WOT is a different story, quickly jumps to 1400+ till I take my foot out of it. Fuel pressure is running around 16 lbs continuosly. No dead spots or defueling issues as some others have reported. And she doesn't smoke. Remember the old Maxell Tape commercials with the guy in the chair? That's the feeling!

She runs like a raped aped!

I took my buddys truck which is exactly like mine and has a EZ set on #4, stacked it with Bull Dog Power Pup set on max. All I can say is "insane". Couldn't shift fast enough in the lower gears and shredded the clutch. We could be doing 65 down the freeway in 6th gear and romp it, set you way back in the seat, lift the front of the truck by 3" and then the clutch would let loose. Couldn't get all of the power to the ground. If you lugged it around it would smoke like no tomorrow. Kind of wish I had the set up, but would definetly need clutch upgrade. Speaking of.... what would be a good clutch upgrade?

One of those 500 + hp clutches!

Reading some of the other posts with dyno results (BullyDog/Fueling box), I figure I am somewhere around the 450- 500 hp range (to the ground).

Gotta Love It!

I think I am going to send back my downloader. I tried the TST on another members truck, with and without a pressure box stacked and liked it better. Plus the downloader just does not offer enough max power or any turndown for icy winter roads. I had the impression the Outlook could turn it down....but was wrong

Possible your Outlook is not working correctly? Mine defuels just fine with fairly significant differences in available power between the settings. It seems to defuel based on total available power, not just the "added" power. For instance, on 0%, I can barely get RPMs over 1600 and it just crawls away from stop lights at a snail's pace. Talk about a great valet switch. 50% feels about stock or a little less.

I like the TST better for overall power as well. The TST was great and would have liked to have stayed with it, but it didn't agree with my truck and I couldn't put up with the constant miss and codes. I have a lot of "Ford" driving buds at work that ride with me and it was embarrassing going down the road and sputter....sputter...sputter. The Bully Dog I think has better throttle response and get-up-and-go from stoplights, but the TST runs off and leaves it after that point. TST has much more torque once it gets going. The Bully Dog is a little weak on the top end. I bugged Bully Dog again yesterday about the rumored new program to increase the pup by 50hp (had been confirmed by them in past conversations) and they seem to have forgotten the thought ever existed, so I guess we will not be seeing that one. I'm waiting for a call back from "the man" to talk about the possibility of a custom program. Reckon they will ever call? If not, I guess I'll be going somewhere else….again.

I called my seller and asked for the 30 day money back. He's giving me the runaround.

He tells me he will get the details from BullyDog. I told him I already called BullyDog and he has to honor the 30 day money back.

If they don't honor it I'll let you guys know and a million others.

After a PM from AK Ram (thanks ) and a call to Bully Dog, my problems are solved. I had selected the type of truck as '03 - 05 D wM' is how it shows up. Apparantly that is for if you are stacking it with a pressure box. I spoke to Russel at Bully and he figured it out quickly, and told me to select '98.5 - 05 D O' meaning Dodge other. Well the power levels now work properly for turn down in winter and there is LOTS more power and smoke happening. I am now all . They could have a better manual (info was not in there) but the tech support was great. Also I have an 03 so with the PTO feature on the downloader I now have a high idler as well.

Hey Mr. Cold, Can you tell me if that PTO feature can be enabled on a 6 spd too? Maybe the dloader can over ride the ecm of the manual trans trucks for this feature?

PM me your mailing address too.

Scotty

Hi Scotty,
The downloader has to be plugged into the OBD II port in order to use the PTO feature. Plug it in and I get get any RPM I want...but I have to plug it in each time I want to use it. I have just been plugging it in every morning and using it to get some heat in the old girl.

Well you were correct and the documentation is no help. Originally I assumed since the Monitor worked without any power enhacer or module and I have the Power Pup, than I should select w/module. Guess I didn't know what they meant specifically by "module".

Anyway I switched to 03-05 without and yes the power has come up. I get a puff of smoke for a short blip now. I had a feeling something was different because I originally just downloaded extreme without the monitor. Now with the Monitor set correctly it's the same as before.

I wouldn't call the extreme setting extreme by any means. Nice and strong though. I think the torque convertor loss takes away from the bottom end.

I tried the variable power settings. 0% and 25% are unusable. Heck the thing feels like it's applying the brakes and even causes a downshift when trying to accelerate.

Effectively you have 50%, 75% and 100% which work well.

High boost reading is still not working.

I tried reinstalling the stock program once and it didn't take. When I went to re-load extreme the downloader said it did not reckognize the truck. I was a little figity at that point. Then I thought... I'll bet the Monitor, being set on 100%, could be a hitch in this so I disconnected and knocked it back to stock again. This time I was able to reload extreme. Not sure if that really was the reason but it worked. Had to clear low boost and antilock brakes and was back in business.
