Fox Shocks (KORE)

I'm curious to see how many guys have had problems with the FOX 2.0 pin-top shocks that come with a KORE chase system. Mine are out for the second time to be rebuilt for oil leaks. I'm just about ready to go a different route. I'm thinking KING 2.5's from Thuren with his towers. Just pisses me off I guess. Those shocks haven't seen 15K miles in two years. My truck is a second gen but I know more 3rd gen guys have the systems. Let me know, Thanks

I just sent them out yesterday to KORE after trying to get an RA # for a month. Finally had to call the corporate office. The distributor I got the kit through doesn't do business with them anymore. The distributor took care of me last time though. Their customer service leaves a whole lot to be desired. That is one of my pet peeves. Anyways, I will put them back on when I get them back. I have been contemplating selling, so I don't know if I want to plop down the scratch for the KINGS. I'm kinda on the fence either way. My wife will say spend the money and keep it because she knows if I get a newer truck I will do the same things to it. HAHA

I think a 2.5 would be the minimum. I do tend to use the suspension traveling logging roads and such. I havent had any problems with the 2.0's in the rear. My leaks have always been at the outlet for the reservoir to the shock. Not hard to figure out when they have leaked down the 200psi nitrogen charge. You cannot check the pressure on them unless you have the correct setup. The equiptment to check and charge these shocks would be too steep for the average guy. When right they are night and day from stock. I wish I would have known about Don a couple years back when I got caught up in the "HYPE". I have talked to him a couple times, if not busy he will talk to you forever. Genuine guy. I bought a FOX steering stabilizer from him with his mount. Trick piece of gear. XXLTEXAN you already have the springs so all you need is the towers and shocks for the front. The recon doesn't come with the rear mini pack does it?

The equipment to check and charge the shocks should not cost over 200.

I think something like this would of been better than my first choice. http://powertank.com/products/sfID1/29/productID/98

Then a tank and regulator. Not to terrible much on the expense side.

To bad you had issues with the 2.0 shocks. I do think they are a bit small for the front end of these trucks. If the trucks are run very hard.

So yes...all I would need is that trick billet spacer that goes ontop of vr spring to alow for the res. hose...I Bought el's from KORE as I pieced together a Recon kit and was quoted 149...they charged me 275 and when I got the bill I called them and they said that was right. I have bought 3 kits in three years from them and have referred countless others to them and they snubbed me. Bosshogg had to cancel an order with them and then reorder the same stuff with a buddies credit card and address to get his kit at the price advertised before his kit shipped as they wouldn't honor a the price...when my 05 got stolen i had to call a KORE vendor because I sent them a money order for my Chase system and the stub was in the owners manuel in the stolen truck and they wouldn't send me a recipt for my insurance...I rant and rant because I defended them through the brand wars for no good reason...thats why I ask about that billet tower piece for the shocks cause if I have to by it from KORE I will keep what I got

Paid for an hour of shop time to rebuild them two weeks ago, but only after I called them to find out what was up. Still no shocks. Buyer Beware Guys, their customer service sucks period. Couldn't get ahold of them tonight, closed for the BAJA 1000. What a crock. 9 weeks is a crock of it too.

Go to the top of the food chain. Email Kent Kroeker.

Don does a great job with customer service, and valving the kings for your specific needs.

I haven't had problems with my 2.0's but I only have them on the back. I have 2.5's in the front. I did have a problem with one of their distributors and kent kroeker himself called me and resolved my issue. That was a year ago, thankfully no problems since. But it does take reaching the top to get problems taking care of.

Those 2.0's leak all the time....the customer service you get from KORE is quite interesting..its seams to take them along time to get shocks even for brand new kits...it took fox almost 3 months to build my one off shocks for my tech system....king should have been my first call..but yes don or sage next time..hands down!
