Question Formula 1 Diesel Injectors Question

On the f1diesel web site (http://www.f1diesel.com/products.html) they have two different injector links for the 24V Cummins.

Does anyone know what the 24 Valve Echo Cummins is vs. just the 24 Valve Cummins? For the Mach 1 injectors, there's $500 dollars in difference between the two.

The Echo injector is for the Common Rail engine. Sorry for the confusion.

I dont have the common rail EDM injectors ready yet. Looks like about 6-8 more months. I do have some sweet honed common rail injectors though. They are working very well in customers trucks. I dont have the common rail honed injectors listed.

Oh lovely. Why are they $500 more??? Does anyone else make good quality injectors for a lower cost? I'm looking for some that will give me about 65 horse.

Don, you must have replied the same time I did! You have some honed injectors for the '03? I don't know a lot about injectors, so I don't know what that means vs. the Echo series.
I'm looking for something like what's offered in the Mach 1 series....about 65 horse. I don't have a box and don't think I would need one for those type injectors, right? I don't want any additional smoke either. Will they make the truck smoke more?

Check this thread out. Its few weeks old. I can build you any size honed injector you want. The standard honed injector is 60 HP, but 65 is cake!!

They are not 500, but they are not 1000 either. Somewhere in-between

Yes, they will smoke some, but the smoke is very low and only when you really try and make it smoke. They wont blow smoke constantly. They wont blow smoke if you drive in a normal or even slightly aggressive fashion either. You can tow as much as the truck is rated to tow as well.

The 03's can set an overboost code. If you leave the wastegate stock and dont change the settings the injectors should never cause you to set a code.

Because Gen3 / echo injectors are electronically controlled. They're more complicated than the Gen2 injectors because they have to have solenoid controlled valves in them that allow them to open and close.

So how do the common rail honed injectors work on the '03's then? And does an EZ compliment these injectors? If an EZ is combined with the injectors, would I need to do any modifications or upgrades to anything else? Keep in mind, I'm looking for safe, reliable power that has no long-term ill consequences on the mechanics of the truck.

79 HP, 122 lbs/ft torque.

I have talked to someone who has these installed in a 2003 SO. The SO is faster than a 2003 HO with an Edge EZ. Trucks were tested side by side.

I'll be looking into these when it's time.

Don,

I've been waiting for you to bring up the 03 EDM's. I don't want to bother you with constant badgering. You have no idea how much I appreciate the straight forward lead time estimates that you give instead of just saying a couple more weeks all the time!

Here's the question. Will the 03 edm's be a replacement tip or just additional holes to the existing tips? The reason I'm asking is I would like to use the DD2's or DD3's until the EDM's are ready but I will only do this if you use replacement tips. I don't want to modify tips if you need them in original form to build the 03 EDM's. I hope you can answer this without releasing propriatary information. If you say wait I WILL wait.

B1-04 is enroute!

Thanks,

Richard

The nozzles for the EDM injectors are brand new tips. Not a modified stock injector. They should be ready in 6-8 months.

The honed injectors are available now. There are differrences in honing that are not visible to the naked eye. Performance is the best way to tell. Smoke level VS perofrmance gained and EGT.

Getting closer on the EDM injectors! Nothing super high performance yet, but more power and improved fuel economy.

They are for the 03-04 and the 04.5 600 engine. Two different nozzles of course but the results are the same. Improved economy and better performance.

Maybe in the next few weeks I will have some betas ready
