Flux 2s and stock cp3

What do you guys think about running flux 2s with a stock pump. With the mods in my sig will i gain much with new injectors? Or would I be better off with some smaller injectors. Someday I hope to have a modded pump but thats a ways off. What do you guys think? Thanks Joel

I was going to ask the same exact question + or - a couple of existing mods.

With the tst and mp-8 and or x2 you are probably challenging your cp3 as it is i wouldnt go over 50 horse set of stixs if your not planning on doing cp3 soon 90s would probably be okay any more then that and you wont see alot of power gain and rail will be drained.

Look at my sig. Stock pump and flux 2's and I am not draining the rail. Given I am pulling it down quite a bit but am not draining it. You'll be fine just don't go to crazy and try stacking to many chips on top of it. Some Flux's would be a great imprvement over stock.

unless your truck is popping alot you are not draining the rail...which happens when the rail gets below 10kpsi...but even below 18kpsi at WOT....performance is way off. Given the electronics available .... like smarty...I decided to get a set of Fluxes that my stock pump could handle...and that even a Modded pump could handle if I stacked with a TST. You have the air flow and if you are even considering a modded pump then go ahead and get Flux 2's...but your mileage will suffer when you are grocery getting. KS

still getting 18mpg with my truck. I do need a new cp3 as my rail pressure gauge shows about 17,000 at WOT but the ez also messes with that.

My stock CP3 does great with the Flux 2's. Without any added pressure I see 23-24k of rail pressure at WOT. With a little added pressure it's right around 25-26k. I'm not running a TST though and that would probably make a big difference.

As far as what you'll gain with the Flux 2's, mine took the truck from a 13.46 to a 12.78 with no other changes. I didn't notice any real change in mileage either.

JRussel, You must have one strong stock pump to hold over 20kpsi! The Betas are awesome for rail conservation though. Mileage... Bigger injectors, Front Lift, Big tires, Florida highway speeds....18mpg would be incredible.

I guess it's pretty healthy for a stocker. Kind of like Shane's stock tranny, but not so legendary.

I get 18mpg pretty easily. Unloaded at 70-75mph it will get that. My tires are not really that big though. Just barely larger than stock.

Right now i keep 26500 at wot with the tst and quad. So I think ive got a little room to work with. Im sure ill have to turn down the tst quite a bit, but would i be better going to 3/2 and 25000 psi or 4/2 and say 20,000 psi?

25,000 psi!

I think you want a flux 1.5 unless you upgrade your pump.

FWIW, with stock sticks my max RP was 24-25k. Now with the Flux 2's it's 23-24k. Maybe my stock CP3 is stronger than it should be, but that was only about 1-2k of RP lost at WOT.

Well...I would have to differ to you. But, I think because of his electronics...

TST pressure box stack...he may want just slightley smaller.

Thats what I was wondering. I probably wouldnt gain much over 1.5s if i went with 2s. Maybe ill split the difference and 1.8s or something?
