Exclamation Finally, i did a boost controller write up

This is my first write up, so excuse me if its a little confusing at any point. PM me if you have any questions..

i dont really have part numbers, but everything can be found in my home away from home, the pluming section of home depot!

What you will need:
2- ¼” barbed fittings
1- adjustable pressure regulator with ¼” in and outlets. (tools section)
4- small hose clamps (you might have 2 on your turbo hose already)
about 3’ of high pressure hose ¼” ID (at least as high pressure as your boost plans) Make sure its long enough to reach from the turbo inlet, to where ever you want the controller to be mounted and back to the wastegate.

Directions:
cut your new high pressure hose in about half
attach the 2, ¼” barbed fittings to the pressure regulator using thread sealant. next , attach 1 end of one hose to the barb fitting on the pressure regulator using a hose clamp, then do the same with the other hose to the other barb fitting. Next, remove the old wasetgate hose from the turbo and wastegate and install the new hose with the attached regulator to the same place you removed the old wastegate hose using hose clamps. Mount your controller in an easy to access place and secure it.

That’s pretty much it! If you need/want to you can drill a small bleed hole somewhere the controller to bleed some pressure so you can go higher boost. (I didn’t do that and I can go as high as 50 psi so far) Now to test and set it, I would start with the controller wide open. Make a run and check your boost, then make small adjustments on the controller and test, until you reach your boost level desired.

The controller will be able to control the boost anywhere between the wasegate’s set psi and over. If your wastegate is set at 30, you wont be able to go below 30 psi

This is much easier than messin with the wastegate arm to adjust pressure

Finished product.

Will this work on truck with a manually operated wastegate? I have an adjustable boost elbow....does this replace that?

Cool... any way to do away with the stock wastegate and utilize this as the only relief?

Its just an air pressure regulator, i found it in the tools section of home depot. its a ball valve, although a pin valve would be better.
