few questions on transmissions
I am pretty new to the diesel crowd, and i am currently looking for a dodge 2500 4x4 quad cab i was looking for a standard but the more i look around i end up finding and auto that matches what im looking for better so.
as for my questions if i were to go with an automatic which company would be the best to go with for an upgraded tranny. i intend on modifying it and also towing with it but nothing over say 6000 lbs.
what can the manual transmission hold with an upgraded clutch such as south bend?
and for the last question what if any is the MPG difference between a auto and a standard on these trucks?
any input or help at all would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you

Welcome to DTR!!
Goerend & HTS get the best reviews for trannys. Manual Tranny will hold lots of power with a good clutch, MPG would probably be the same between the two althought the manual might be ahead a little bit.

Today I was looking around traderonline.com for the heck of it. I put in; "any area" to get the whole USA. There were 167 2006-2007 megacabs with manual transmissions. Megacab's are probably much harder to find w/a manual trans than a quad-cab. Punch in what you are looking for and see how many manual tranny quad trucks come up.

See if the following post worked. I just did a search for 05-06 manual transmission 2500/3500 Rams. There were 644 matches.
