Fass Question
Just installed the system the other day and I was listening to the pump today at idle. Sounds like it was surging? Is this normal?
Also the truck died once out of the blue while driving, started it back up and haven't had a problem. Wondering if there was air caught in the system, surely it had to have gone thru before that? About 2 hrs on the system?
Just don't want to get caught on the road or heading up a hill in rush hour!

My pump will surge and change pitch at idle upon startup because the grid heater is using a lot of power. Air shouldn't be a concern on common rail engine fuel systems unless you have a leak somewhere.
The pump just seems to make alot a racket and noise, doesn't sound that smooth to me. Maybe it's the bypass mode going in and out, not sure if that would be normal? Maybe with the DC voltage changing because of the grid heater cycling the pressure demand changes ? There appears to be a constant stream of unused fuel going overboard back into the filler hose back into the tank.
Got a big trip planned tomorrow to a remote part of the bush for a week. Hopefully it's all good, the tool bag will be in the truck just in case.
