FASS Install Question
I thought the same thing about that they sent me the wrong one but I spoke to fass and I was told that the stamp b is for 95gph and a is for 150gph. they said all units come with 150 on them for series not model.I had a hard time also for mounting pictures suck I mounted mine just behind cab and I have a long bed not where they show but my filler lines were in the way to mount it where they would like it .my lines are on a angle and would rest on the motor . the directions said the motor gets warm and maybe hot so I did not want any problems there. was going to finish install today but it is raining here so I guess this week .I am also going to put another support off of the back to help hold up ,there brackes look fine but a lot of bounceing I do not want .
Thanks PsRumors, its a 95.
Kully, the way I have mine mounted it is pushing against the filler hose...now you got me worried....and yes, the pictures SUCKED they had no orientation on the images so you didn't know what direction anything was in.
On another sadder note...I found two leaks this morning. I haven't been able to post about it since my DSL went down for a few hours. One was at the engine where the 90 degree flare connects to the o-ring. The other seems to be "seeping" from the filter. I think I cured the first one...I tightened it a little more (nothing extreme), I put a fresh piece of card board under it and have run it for about 10 minutes and so far so good there....
on the filter end...right around the rim where the filter meets the mount it seems to be seeping through there...very very slow, its definitely not dripping out...just really slowly seeping around the rim then making its way out and down the filter and to my driveway. What do I do? Is it too tight? Is it too loose? Just when I thought I was in the safe zone *sigh

ramirezh as far as the filter leaking did you oil it before you reinstalled it? if so I would drop it and check it maybe the gasket is bad . call fass and ask for a girl named rebecca I had a talk with her and she knew this product inside and out .ask her about the motor hitting the filler hose .the paper work that came with it says the motor can get hot so I moved mine up one rail you can see it between the bed and the cab as you look in the space between them.let me know how you make out. I did not hook up yet as it rained today so I taped up the hose ends so to stay dry. I had enough yesterday just trying to mount it and read the pictures .I also had to get a pipe nipple as I did install my fuel sender in the fass pump there was not enough room unless I extented it out about 1 in.did you notice anything better as far as the truck runs.p/s if the filter still leaks ask her if she would send you out a replacement
Kully,
Yeah, I made sure to oil it first...I'm going to check it out tomorrow again and probably take it out and double check (dark now), if it looks "iffy" I'll contact FASS. I took it for a drive yesterday after I was done...haven't felt anything yet...tomorrow will be the highway test...I'll see how it runs then and see if I feel any difference. I would have posted pictures...but I can't find my stupid cable for the camera!! I'll post them up as soon as I can (my wife thinks she took the cable to work).
