Fass or AirDog can you use a filter that has WIF sensors????
Just doing a bit of reading and found a Fleetguard FS19596 that has a built in WIF sensor. Can either one of you teams engineer this filter into your systems since our factory WIF sensors don't seem to work? I have never heard of anyone's WIF sensor coming on in a 3rd Gen. Help us out guys....
The Dodge sensor system seems to be perty much usless....

Talked with Seaboard Marine today about this issue and they recomended the Fleatguard FS1000 or the new time released lubricant filter (ULSD filter) the FS20000. No pressure or volume will be reduced because of the fact both filters can flow 100 GPH.
Here is the literature on the FS20000. It is a 5 Micron water seperator. Service life of 6 months or 250hrs whichever comes first. It has a custom filter mount.

I am looking up the FS1000

This is all I have found on the FS1000 at this time. It has a 10 micron rating.

Thanks, that is one hi-tech filter (fs20000) cost is probably up there, but looks as though it would fit right on the fass. Wonder if the recirculation sys on the fass would lessen the working life of lubrication. I always add lucas in liberal proportions. 5 micron is what I like. The site also listed a cummins filter adaption, could use this filter post fass for better filtering. It might fit right up to the typical wix filter mount that is sold. Got one somewhere. Great post, got the gears turning in what's left of my brain.

Fleetguard's flow ratings are based on a vacuum feed system with restrictions of up to 12 in. hg. before filter changes are required. This is an actual pressure differential of about 6 psi to the negative of ambient. Under the controlled pressure of a pump, the extended life of the filter could be figured by the increased pressure of the pump. Example, a pump producing 12 psi would theoretically increase the usable life of the filter to twice that of a 6psi differential and a pump with an output pressure of 18 psi would increase it 3 times.
The Fleetguard FS-1000 is a 10 micron StrataPore filter. It is typically used on class 8 trucks as a primary filter and has an average service life of approximately 12,000 miles (this is on an engine averaging 6 MPG). These numbers consider fuel of average quality as found in truck stops.

In my mind Charlie that would work great in front of your 2 Micron filter. I really like the AirDog setup. I just wish the filter setup was as follows.
100Micron water sep.------Fuel Pump----- FS1000 (10micron)----- AirDog/Fleetguard filter (2 Micron)
To me this setup would be excellent. The reason I would like the extra protection is due to the factory WIF light. No one ever posts that it actually works. We normally get one truck in 1-2 months that Dodge is trying to void the warranty on due to water in the fuel. It seems the Factory fuel system dosen't do a very good job at all with emulsified water issues.

Here is one that was posted recently on a 6.7 engine truck. Take a look.

I am sure we will have another one in about a month.
