Red face F1 Injectors or Smarty???

I have a 2004.5 SRW 3500 and tow a 12k Fifth wheel 3 weeks a year. The rest of the year it's a 7 mile drive to work. I need a little extra when towing so I don't have to downshift to 5th. What would you recomend I go with , new injectors or Smarty? I was spoiled by my 97 which had a zero plate and a DTT trans but the new one stock is alright but I want to get it to the next level. I'm leaning toward injectors myself but I'm willing to listen to all.

Looks like he already has gauges
I don't have a 3rd gen, but I went with a Smarty first and then bigger sticks. For everyday drivability, the Smarty is worth every penny. The sticks make a difference for me (again, 2nd gen HO engine) on the top end.
A North Texas member just put down a little over 460 HP on his 04.5 with just a Smarty on level 9 (he has intake and exhaust mods, but no sticks etc).

Smarty

SMARTY makes a great mod for pulling. I've used all kinds of downloaders and boxes and it is by far the best for pulling that I've found.

F-1 or smarty

I have no experience with Smarty so can not comment on it. I had my TST before I got F-1 Flux injectors. I only run the TST on 2-2 for extra towing power but it left a lot to be desired on the bottom end due to the fact that the duration does not kick in untill 12 pounds of boost. When I got the F-1s it sure woke up the bottom end for me. If I had it to do over again I would go with the F-1s first and then see if I still needed a box for my towing. Just my 2 cents worth. I also tow a 12K 5er.

Smarty makes great power down low for pulling. I do not have injectors yet and the only draw back to running Smarty is you have to watch your EGT's. Another nice thing about the Smarty if you dont like the way it pulls send it back you have 30 days. Dont think you can doo that with injectors

The injectors will be worthless unless you have a program (whether a box or downloader) to provide boost fooling and new boost tables to match the fueling. Otherwise the ECM will read the boost and supply less fuel to the injectors. Flux 1's give you about 40hp but that won't allow you to tow in a higher gear. I have Flux 1.5's (maybe 70-75hp) and Smarty on just level 1 of 9 is great for mileage and towing and the EGT's are just a little higher than stock with the stock turbo. For light towing 3 or even 5 will be possible but leave the torque management stock for towing as the tranny will not like it. ks

Don't get me wrong as I have F1 sticks,.. but a month or so ago for a few days I took everything off the truck for a dealer trip and just left the EZ in with the F1s and it wasn't good. They need a lot more help when you run just that. IMHO, they are a great addition but not the 1st thing you want to do to tow well. Go with the SMARTY and then add on the F1s as soon as you can for a better result.
